Dr Janina Ramirez heads to Egypt to uncover the secrets behind one of history’s greatest archaeological finds. Meeting experts and enthusiasts, she learns more about Howard Carter and discovers how, in 1922, this penniless son of an artist managed to find the intact tomb of Pharaoh Tutankhamun when so many others had failed. She will also travel to Highclere Castle, later used as the location for Downton Abbey, to talk about the 5th Lord Carnarvon, who lived there and funded Howard’s expedition, and see some of the artefacts from Tut’s tomb they have on display.
