Nick and Leanne got a shock a few weeks back when they discovered that Sam had been writing to drug-dealing villain Harvey Gaskell.

Last year, the crook escaped prison and headed to Weatherfield to get his revenge on Leanne, who had helped the police to put him behind bars. But when he came after her, he ended up killing Sam’s mum Natasha instead in a case of mistaken identity.

Seeking answers

Struggling to understand why Harvey acted the way he did, Sam decided to go straight to the horse’s mouth for some answers and started sending him letters.

Harvey, however, didn’t want to know and summoned Leanne to visit him in prison where she was stunned to learn that Sam had been writing to him and that he wanted it to stop.

Back at home, Nick and Leanne confronted Sam, who agreed to stop sending letters to Harvey, but only if he could see him in person instead!

Horrified at the thought of his son visiting a crazed killer,

Nick tried to talk Sam round and was relieved when the young lad agreed to let the matter go.

Later, however, Sam admitted to his friend Hope that he had lied to his dad and would continue to write to Harvey.

While he’s been waiting for a reply, Sam has been reading up on restorative justice, where people affected by crime get to meet the offenders. But with Nick refusing to entertain the idea, Sam wonders if

Roy would go with him instead.

When Roy tells Nick, Leanne suggests that he should consider letting Sam visit Harvey as it might give him closure.

So far, Nick’s been opposed to the idea but will he finally agree to let his son face his mum’s killer?
