David Stirling and his men face a struggle for survival after their first mission goes awry…

-

The newly formed SAS set off on their first mission this week, yet their plot to parachute in behind enemy lines and attack German airbases doesn’t go to plan!

When David Stirling and his men launch their attack, a terrible sandstorm descends, making their mission even more perilous.

Ignoring the warnings of RAF pilots, the SAS proceed with their jump. The mission proves a complete disaster, however, and many soldiers are killed upon landing.

Determined not to be defeated, David (Connor Swindells), Lieutenant Jock Lewes (Alfie Allen), Lieutenant Paddy Mayne (Jack O’connell) and a handful of survivors begin the long walk out of the desert.

With temperatures soaring and water running short, the men look doomed until they encounter Corporal Mike Sadler and his reconnaissance team Long Range Desert Group.

Solidarity

‘Mike shares David’s determination to take the fight to the Germans,’ says Tom Glynn-carney, who plays Mike. ‘He sees these guys are willing to put everything on the line to push the boundaries of what’s possible.

They’re a community of oddities.’

With the help of Long Range

Desert Group,

David and his men set up a new desert base and plan nighttime jeep raids on German airfields.

For Tom, playing Mike, the lastsurviving original member of the Special Air Service, felt like a oncein-a-lifetime opportunity.

‘I didn’t get to meet Mike before filming, but hopefully I’ll meet him now the show is on TV,’ says Tom. ‘I’d love to hear his stories!’
