It all kicks off in the season finale as the truth comes out that Pop was set up by the Jerebohms, who blackmailed the magistrate. Ma organises a sting operation against Pinkie, helped by PC Harness, who’s desperate to make amends with Pauline. It’s also comeuppance time for the vicar when the dean tells him Reverend Candy is replacing him, prompting the vicar to barricade himself in the vicarage!
With Mariette married off, love-struck younger sister Primrose is next in line to settle down, and this week the budding journalist gets some happy news when she hears Reverend Candy has been asked to stay permanently.
The incumbent (Peter Davison) isn’t so happy, and barricades himself in the vicarage, while for Pop (Bradley Walsh) the prospect of another child flying the nest brings mixed emotions.
‘He’s quite sad, because it’s like the band is starting to break up,’ says Bradley. ‘But she’ll hopefully remain in Littlechurch if Reverend Candy remains!’
