Vicki Pepperdine, Mike Wozniak and Joe Thomas star as extraterrestrials who have arrived on Earth in this one-off comedy, set in the aftermath of an alien invasion. Declan Baxter is Lancashire lad Stewart, chosen by the visitors as their official human liaison, while Amanda Abbington plays a leader of the human resistance and former Corrie star Georgia May Foote is Stewart’s crush Elodie.
Ahapless young council worker is recruited by aliens to help them rule the world in a new feature-length comedy from the writers of Ghosts.
The action sees unambitious twenty-something Stewart Connelly (Declan Baxter) enlisted by extraterrestrials Trater (Vicki Pepperdine), Gordan (Mike Wozniak) and Greggs (Joe Thomas) when they land in Lancashire.
Stewart, who has a crush on local barmaid Elodie (Georgia May Foote), is tasked with boosting the aliens’ popularity as they become increasingly baffled by human culture and practices.
‘It’s a brilliant comedy but it’s also got a lovely message about the damage we are doing to our planet,’ says Joe, whose character, Greggs, forms an endearing friendship with Stewart. ‘The aliens are essentially holding a mirror up to humanity and saying, “What the hell are you doing?!”’
