It’s judgement day for Stevie Nash as she prepares for her Jac Naylor Award interview and learns she’ll be in competition with ED rival Ethan Hardy.
Stevie treats singer Flo, who’d been making a music video with her boyfriend and manager Jordan when she fell off a wall. When she suffers an unexplained seizure, Flo admits she’s been microdosing on drugs that Jordan gave her to ‘release her creativity’.
Convinced he’s abusing Flo, Stevie confronts Jordan, who tries to intimidate her…
‘Initially, Stevie sees Jordan as controlling and she’s not having it,’ says Elinor Lawless, who plays the ED’S strong-willed consultant. ‘Stevie thinks there’s nothing to fear – but then events take an unexpected turn.’
Later, as Stevie’s preparing for her big interview, Jordan beats her up.
‘You’ve got two “kingpins” going head-to-head,’ says Elinor. ‘We didn’t shy away from the brutality of the attack.’
Ethan finds Stevie and she’s rushed to the ED. But despite being bruised, Stevie decides she will make it to her interview!
‘Stevie sees vulnerability as a weakness,’ reveals Elinor.
‘This incident is a threat to her strength and her bravery.
It knocks her sideways.’
