Christmas heartbreak

Trouble erupts as desperate Mack searches for his son…

-

When Mack told Chloe that their relationship was over, the last thing he expected was for her to take off with their money – and, more importantly, their son Reuben.

That was three weeks ago, and distraught Mack is going out of his mind with worry over his missing baby boy.

‘He’s not coping,’ says Lawrence Robb, who plays him. ‘It’s the start of a downward spiral for him. And it’s impacting his relationship with Charity. They’re fighting because he’s missing his son.’

As the ordeal rumbles on, the dad fumes when his sister Moira starts talking about Christmas, expecting him to sit round a table with Chloe’s sister Amy, who’s going out with his nephew Matty.

Convinced they know where Chloe is, Mack’s gunning for Amy, leaving Matty stuck in the middle. Cracking, Matty reveals that they’ve arranged to visit Chloe.

Hooded figure

‘That’s when Mack is like a moth to a flame to Matty,’ adds Lawrence. ‘And, inevitably, he follows them.’

However, his plan fails when Amy spots him and Charity in pursuit. As an ugly fight breaks out, desperate Mack swipes Amy’s phone, intending to lure out Chloe by pretending to be her. But Chloe sees through him and vows that Mack will never see Reuben again. The fallout is huge. Matty punches his uncle for causing chaos in his relationship. ‘Matty has since fallen out with Amy because she’s discovered what he said. Mack mocks him, saying, “Boohoo,”’ explains Lawrence.

But after Amy kicks off at Mack about her vulnerable sister, she’s pounced on by a hooded figure… Is Mackenzie responsible?
