Two babies take residence in the village!

-

At Home Farm, there’s tension between Will and Kim, but their beef falls by the wayside when the family prepares to welcome a newborn!

Kim’s ready and waiting to be there for her stepdaughter Dawn’s home birth in case it’s too much for squeamish Billy. But the birthing plan is put at risk when Will finds out about Kim’s part in Craig’s death…

After begging her furious hubby not to say a word, Kim gets drunk and is found slumped against Dawn’s birthing pool. And in a case of terrible timing, Dawn’s about to need it. Over at the Christmas fair, her contractions have begun.

‘Dawn previously had a traumatic experience of pregnancy when she was addicted to heroin and had her baby taken away from her. She wants to do everything different and is putting herself under pressure to be the perfect pregnant person,’ explains Olivia Bromley, who plays her.

Will Dawn make it back to Home Farm to have her dream birth? And will Kim be there to support the Fletchers?

Down the road at Smithy, another little one is about to enter the mix. But its arrival is wholly unexpected by Marlon and Rhona, who reel when Mary arrives with Gus and baby Ivy in tow.

It’s complicated

Having been keeping an eye on Gus – Rhona’s ex, whose wife died after giving birth to a baby born from Rhona’s stolen embryo – Mary takes action when she deduces the widower is at breaking point. ‘The longer this story goes on, the more I realise there are no heroes or villains. Everybody’s a victim and everybody is struggling to make sense of it and to do the right thing,’ says Zoë Henry, who plays Rhona. How will Marlon react to the house guests? And will Rhona be able to keep her complicated feelings for Ivy in check?
