Are Mandy and jealous Paddy on the rocks over Chas’ romance with Liam?
Things have been pretty much plain sailing since Paddy and Mandy decided to give in to their lingering feelings and revive their love. Even Chas has got used to seeing her ex with the beautician, and the separated parents are happily co-parenting Eve.
But trouble is looming in paradise. With Chas having secretly started up a fling with Liam, the pair are trying to avoid detection. But when Paddy pitches up at Wishing Well, Mandy realises they’ve interrupted something and susses Liam’s got a woman upstairs!
Liam manages to usher Chas out unseen. It’s all pretty stressful, and though he wishes he didn’t have to add to the drama, the doctor is forced to tell Chas he thinks she may have a lump in her breast. Chas covers her shock but later crumbles, fearful to what this could mean given her beloved mum, Faith, died of breast cancer in 2022. ‘Chas is completely sideswiped as it’s not something she was expecting him to say,’ says Lucy Pargeter, who plays the landlady. ‘Liam reassures her it could be nothing but that she must get a proper check-up. The next day, intrigued Paddy and Mandy are still trying to work out who their landlord is sleeping with. Without meaning to, Liam clumsily reveals Chas’ identity, leaving Mandy taken aback by Paddy’s angry reaction.
Lack of trust
With her partner’s jealousy paramount in her mind, Mandy’s insecurity increases when Paddy takes her to a work do and fails to introduce her as his girlfriend. Though Paddy explains his reasons, Mandy’s further hurt when a nasty incident erupts at the party and the vet assumes she’s to blame…
Can they move past this? Is Mandy and Paddy’s relationship about to get tested?
