No coming back

This week, Dee-dee is keen to see Ed start tackling his problems and return to No.3. But when she says as much to her brother, he flips. As Dee-dee begs him to reconsider, they’re interrupted by a knock at the door. It’s the bailiffs.

Are they about to lose their home?

‘The bailiff is just another nail in the coffin for Michael and

BEd’s relationship,’ says Channique Sterling-brown, who plays the local lawyer. ‘The strain this has caused by having trouble brought literally to the doorstep means it might not be the end but it definitely makes it harder to come back from.

‘Dee-dee has always felt a responsibility to keep her eye on the ball with her mum being away and has kind of taken on that role. She’s felt the pressure to step up, especially because she wasn’t there the last time it happened.’ Ed’s situation continues to spiral downwards when he hears his friend isn’t able to take ernie’s now out of prison and is back with a bang. Determined to make up for lost time with Paul, who has motor neurone disease, the mum tells her son’s carer Moses to take some time off and prepares to get stuck in.

Paul’s loving having Bernie back in Weatherfield but his blood runs cold when she starts tidying and opens up him in and Gary decides against buying his building business. Though terrified Ed keeps the blows from his kids, Michael gets wind his dad is in a state, and to his horror he spots smoke billowing out of the yard.

After racing over in search of Ed, Michael makes to leave only to find the stairs ablaze… Will he get out alive? the cupboard where he’s stashed the pills he plans to use to end his life when the time comes. Fortunately, his secret stays safe… for now.

But Paul’s terminal plan is put at risk again when Bernie takes her kids on a road trip in a dilapidated motorhome. The trio are soon not only lost but stuck in the mud with a patchy mobile signal to boot! Back in Weatherfield, Billy has no idea where his hubby is and panics when he finds all Paul’s deadly meds have gone, too. Fearing the worst he desperately calls Paul… but it’s Gemma who picks up. Are Paul’s family about to hear about his tragic exit strategy?
