Johnny Vegas sets out to expand his glamping site – with a helicopter!

When he set out to create the country’s coolest glamping site using repurposed vintage vehicles, comedian Johnny Vegas knew he had a big task on his hands – and as the first series revealed, there were a lot of obstacles along the way!

Now Johnny wants to expand his ‘Field of Dreams’, but with no space for growth on his current site, this second series sees Johnny and his assistant

Fly-on-the wall docu-series Fresh Cops is back on the beat in Leicesters­hire for a second series with a brand new batch of baby-faced police recruits.

Philippa, 23, is only three weeks into the job when she has to make her first arrest, detaining a man in breach of his electronic tag curfew. The main worry for Philippa, however, is the suspect’s huge XL bully dog, which is known to have been aggressive in the past.

‘You worry about your first arrest as a new officer anyway,’

Bev Dixon hunting for a new home for the business. ‘The first time round it was all exciting and new, but this time it was dishearten­ing,’ admits Johnny. ‘This series it’s not just a giggle, we have lots to do.’

The search for a suitable new field proves to be frustratin­g, and the stress takes a toll on Johnny’s mental health.

Petrifying

‘He was struggling to control his dog and I thought, “If that gets hold me there’s no hope.” It was petrifying and exciting!’

After making the arrest, the man’s charged. But there’s no rest for Philippa when she’s called out to help deal with a went on hold. A lot was building up, and then I got an ADHD diagnosis.’

Fortunatel­y, there’s still plenty of joy and laughter in the show as Johnny scouts for fresh vehicles to add to his existing repertoire. His dream is to acquire a retired helicopter to renovate into his latest statement glamping pod…

‘Obviously I put the cart before the horse and buy a helicopter before we’ve found the new home!’ he chuckles. ‘It started as a joke with Bev at the end of the first series – then someone had one for sale!’ man accused of assaulting a woman outside a nightclub.

Meanwhile, 27-year-old Dom is struggling with the responsibi­lity of his new role as sergeant and Jake, 26, has to chase a woman with a knife through a restaurant kitchen!
