PAvailable: Thursday 7 March

Genre: Drama Season: 1 Eps: 8 repare to enter a world where aristocrats join forces with underworld criminals in the first-ever TV drama from Guy Ritchie.

Based on his 2020 movie of the same name, the Netflix crime caper tells the story of a lord who finds himself at the head of a drug empire.

As the tale begins, Eddie Horniman (Theo James) unexpectedly inherits his father’s estate, only to discover Susie Glass (Kaya Scodelario) and her crime syndicate have been using his family’s properties to grow cannabis.

‘Susie’s dad is inside doing a long stretch, so she’s looking after his weed empire,’ says Kaya. ‘She’s used to dealing with aristocrats, who usually let her get on with it. But Eddie comes up against her. She notices potential in him, which could be quite useful.’

A taste for it

In the first episode of the eight-part series, Eddie is shocked to learn how much money his brother Freddy

(Daniel Ings) owes to a drug baron and realises he needs to find cash fast.

Susie says she and her father Bobby (Ray Winstone) can help him, as long as Eddie and his groundskeeper Geoff (Vinnie Jones) allow them to continue growing weed at his country estate.

Yet the Glass family aren’t the only criminal enterprise interested in Eddie’s country pile, and despite being desperate to escape the criminal world, Eddie soon develops a taste for it!

‘I think there’s a hint of reality to the story,’ explains Ray. ‘There are real people like this – whether it’s the posh mob or our mob, it’s happening.’
