Marry me! Heart-to-heart
Paddy pops the question to Mandy but is she ready to trust him again?
Mandy Dingle thought that she had secured a fairy-tale happy ending when she and Paddy reconciled after divorce and years spent apart.
So when Marlon revealed that her trustworthy, rock-solid boyfriend had lied about his recent ‘moment’ with Chas, she was utterly thrown. Regardless of the sad circumstances surrounding the exes’ kiss, Mandy was devastated to hear it was her cousin who put a stop to the embrace.
This week, the couple’s loved ones decide to get involved in a bid to get them back together. While Paddy’s guilt-ridden best mate Marlon, his colleague Tom and pal Liam urge him to do everything he can to turn things around, over at Pampamanda, Amelia gives her heartbroken boss a makeover to put a spring back in the Dingle’s step.
‘They all know that Mandy wants it, so it’s about them banging their heads together – they just need to make a scenario to bring Cinderella and her Prince Charming together,’ says Lisa Riley, who plays the devastated Dingle.
In the end, however, it could well be Chas’ words that have the biggest impact on the betrayed salon owner. ‘Chas fakes illness and starts coughing, so Mandy panics and sits with her, and Chas says, “It’s you, Mandy, it’s always been you who Paddy’s loved the most. You were first; you were before me. Yes, he’ll love me because of Grace and Eve but you are his everything.” And that’s the penny-drop moment,’ says Lisa.
Will everyone’s efforts result in a reunion? And when Paddy gets down on one knee to propose, will proud Mandy listen to her heart and say yes to the man she’s always loved?
