Tank Museum welcomes WW2 veterans
Veterans from both sides of the Second World War met to mark the opening of a new exhibition in Dorset. Wilhelm Fischer and Waldemar Pliska, two German Tiger Tank operators, embraced and shook hands with their British counterparts, Ken Tout and Ernest Slarks, at the launch of a new Tiger Tank display at The Tank Museum in Bovington. The four men, all in their nineties, shared their memories using sign language and help from an interpreter. The exhibition, which showcases a Tiger 1, two
King Tigers, a Jagdtiger and an Elefant, runs until 2019. For more details, visit tankmuseum.org.
