in I did the IHGS Cor­re­spon­dence Course cov­er­ing Ge­neal­ogy. It in­cluded 24 mod­ules a wide range of sub­jects. Each re­quired com­plet­ing three or four as­sign­ments.

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE THAT COURSE?

so I could­fit my stud­ies time limit in which to com­plete it, I chose it be­cause there was no set Higher Cer­tifi­cate in com­plet­ing it, I sat the exam for the around other com­mit­ments. WHAT WAS THE EX­PE­RI­ENCE LIKE?

The cor­re­spon­dence course cov­ers fas­ci­nat­ing sub­jects and en­cour­ages you to con­duct your own re­search while study­ing. There was plenty of sup­port too. Each stu­dent has a tu­tor, and there is a fo­rum where you can share ideas and raise queries. I’m now a pro­fes­sional genealogist, run­ning my own busi­ness, an as­so­ciate mem­ber of AGRA – and an IHGS tu­tor.
