CHARLOTTE ‘LOTTIE’ DOD
Multi-sportswoman Lottie Dod is most famous for winning five Wimbledon Ladies’ Singles Championships – the first at only 15 years old – but she was also a world-class athlete in golf, hockey, archery and figure skating. She received a Service Medal from the Red Cross for serving more than 1,000 hours during the war at Chelsea VAD Hospital and a military hospital in Berkshire.
