All Thanks To Phil

Who Do You Think You Are? Magazine - - LETTERS -

I was delighted to read Phil Tomaselli’s article in the November issue about tracing First World War soldiers, as my father, David Sawers Milligan, served with the Cameronians (Scottish Rifles). I have traced what I believe is my father’s medal index card, but have never found his service record. I have a photo of him with the 10th (Service) Battalion, and using longlong (as suggested by Phil) I was able to discover their movements in Europe. I have a photo of him recuperating in hospital somewhere, but don’t know where. He died when I was two in 1944, and I have no memory of him. There are no surviving family members, but this is a fragment to add to his life. Thank you.
