PRONI publishes absent voter lists online for free
The Public Record Office of Northern Ireland (PRONI) has published lists of absent voters in the counties of Armagh and Derry for free on its website. The lists were compiled so that those engaged in war service could vote in the 1918 election. PRONI has digitised the original lists, which include the absent voters’ service numbers, ranks and regiments, and created searchable spreadsheets. The 3,500 names for Armagh are available at bit.ly/ absent-armagh, and the 4,500 for Derry are at bit.ly/absent-derry.
