The Ul­ster His­tor­i­cal Foun­da­tion presents this one-day course in­tro­duc­ing you to re­search­ing your Ir­ish an­ces­tors, and ex­plain­ing how you can work around the de­struc­tion of many records in the fire at the Pub­lic Record Of­fice in 1922 dur­ing the Ir­ish Civil War. The course will cover the main archives and web­sites for be­gin­ning your re­search; the dif­fer­ent Ir­ish land di­vi­sions; church, civil and cen­sus records; and the Grif­fith’s Val­u­a­tion sur­vey. There will also be prac­ti­cal demon­stra­tions and guid­ance on how to use rel­e­vant on­line data­bases. £95, with dis­counts avail­able for mem­bers.
