1828 Irish protestant petition published online
The Irish Genealogical Research Society has added the Balteagh Regium Donum Petition of 1828 to its database. The petition was sent by the Presbyterian congregation of Balteagh in Co. Derry/Londonderry, in an unsuccessful attempt to claim a share of the Regium Donum (‘Royal Bounty’) Fund. The document lists approximately 200 families and their members, totalling 1,023 names. The database can be searched at bit.ly/regium-donum, although the full records are only available to society members.
