TheGenealogist adds Newgate Prison registers

TheGenealogist ( thegenealogist. co.uk) has added 150,000 more records from the Newgate Prison registers to its Court and Criminal Records collection. The records, stored in The National Archives’ series HO26, list prisoners held from 1791 to 1849, and include the date of trial, the crime, any aliases and a physical description as well as details of the victim of the crime (see our article on prison records, page 46).
