Scheduled to transmit around Holocaust Memorial Day (27 January), this Newsround Special follows 14-year-old Maggie, who sets out to trace her family history with the help of her grandfather, Steven Frank. It’s a story that takes in visits to Amsterdam, where Steven’s father was a member of the Dutch Resistance who helped people flee to Switzerland, and Poland, where he was killed at AuschwitzBirkenau. The duo also visit the Czech Republic, where Steven himself was held prior to beginning a new life in the UK. The film is narrated by the writer Anthony Horowitz, creator of the ITV drama Foyle’s War.
