Who Do You Think You Are?

The International Bomber Command Centre in Lincoln (IBCC; internationalbcc.co.uk) is appealing for historical groups and societies throughout the country to help research local casualties who fought in Bomber Command during the Second World War. The IBCC will send the groups the names of airmen and women from their local area to work on. Staff hope that the groups’ research will uncover as much as possible about these individuals’ lives before they enlisted, including their home life, schooling, careers, hobbies and interests. The information will be added to the IBCC’s online Losses Database, which already contains more than four million pieces of information about the 40,000 men and women of Bomber Command who were killed during the war. To take part, email losses@internationalbcc.co.uk.
