June Perrin retires as CEO of Society of Genealogists
The Society of Genealogists has announced that June Perrin has retired from her role as chief executive.
Perrin joined the society 20 years ago to work with former director Robert Gordon, directing and refreshing its human-resources and finance operations, and subsequently became CEO.
The society’s chair Edward Percival said: “June has been a great CEO for the society and a terrific colleague. She has guided the society through significant transformation and changes, and I am very grateful for her excellent stewardship.”
He paid tribute to Perrin’s achievements as CEO, including publishing digital records on the society’s website sog.org.uk and in partnership with Findmypast ( findmypast.co.uk) and FamilySearch ( familysearch.org); overseeing the society becoming the host to the Jewish Genealogical Society of Great Britain and the Irish Genealogical Research Society, and an Affiliate Search Library for FamilySearch; and supervising the sale of the society’s headquarters.
Laura Doyle from the society’s board of trustees has taken over as acting CEO while the society searches for a permanent replacement.
