Volunteers complete project transcribing Post O ce records

The results of ‘Our 1901 Postal Pensioners’, a partnership between the University of the Third Age (U3A) and the research project Addressing Health, have been published online at addressinghealth.org.uk/1901postal-pensioners. Members of the U3A transcribed the death certificates and records of 125 former Post Office employees from south-west England, Scotland and Ireland, all of whom retired in 1901. They researched 96 of them in more detail, producing stories of their lives that are available at tinyurl.com/addressing-postal-stories.
