Who Do You Think You Are?

MEET UP VIRTUALLY

-

Despite the various lockdowns over the past two years, many family history societies and conference events were able to continue to host talks online through such platforms such as Zoom ( zoom.us) and Facebook Live ( facebook.com/watch/live), allowing speakers to communicate with audiences around the world.

So why not take the opportunity to host a virtual reunion during the festive break? You could spend a bit of time before Christmas preparing a presentation, or simply invite family members to attend on the day to have a chat about a particular ancestor or to share with them some old family documents – some of your relatives might well have further stories to share and resources that can help to add even more to the tale. You can even run a quiz devoted to your own family history.

With your relatives’ permission, you can record the event, and share the link with everyone afterwards to allow them to view it again, or to send to those who could not make it – and, of course, to create a brand new family history record in its own right.
