Who Do You Think You Are?

Give a presentation

-

If you have found an unusual or exciting story from your research, why not create a short PowerPoint presentation and tell it to your family over the Christmas break? You don’t need a projector – you can connect your laptop or device to a TV to show it to your assembled relatives. Keep it short, informal and well illustrated with images rather than text, and invite your relatives to comment and ask questions as you go.

If you have the technical skills you can always pre-record your commentary, enjoy the show alongside them, and then encourage your family members to discuss what they have just watched. Were they aware of the story, and can they add any further insight to it from memory or from old family tales?

If relatives wish for a copy of your presentation, you can export it to video and share it privately with them via YouTube.
