Ancestry adds overseas records for UK soldiers

-

Family history website Ancestry ( ancestry.co.uk) has added ‘UK, Military Records of Baptisms, Confirmations, Marriages and Burials, 1813–1957’. The collection contains 38,417 baptism, confirmation, marriage banns, marriage and burial records for UK soldiers serving overseas and their wives and children. If your ancestor is missing from British records, these documents may allow you to trace them. They are taken from the War Office records held by The National Archives in Kew in series WO156.
