The National Archives
nationalarchives.gov.uk Alongside the decade-defining release of the 1921 census of England and Wales through project partner Findmypast, there’s lots of important work going on behind the scenes.
The full collection of 9.7 million Ministry of Defence personnel records will be transferred to TNA over the next six years; the first tranche arrived in February this year. Since the records require work to ensure longterm preservation, there’s no definite date yet on when they will become accessible to researchers. However, staff confirm that they’re working to make this happen as soon as possible, adding that we should keep an eye on TNA’s website and social media channels for announcements.
