New British Red Cross museum opens its doors

The British Red Cross has opened a new museum at its headquarte­rs in London. The museum features a range of items dating back to when the charity was founded in 1870, including a quilt sewn by British women interned by the Japanese in 1942, and a patient-feeding cup belonging to Queen Victoria’s daughter Helena, Princess Christian of Schleswig-Holstein.
