Husband and wife transcribe County Cavan records
Transcriptions of 125,000 records from Ireland’s County Cavan have been put online by married couple Michael McShane and Catherine Kerr. They have transcribed the 1821 census of Cavan, the titheapplotment books from c1832 and the 1841 census of Killashandra parish, arguing that the transcriptions available from the National Archives of Ireland ( nationalarchives.ie) have “considerable issues”.
