FAMILYSEARCH WIKI

There are lots of places to start with FamilySearch. And before rushing to the ‘Search’ button, I recommend these short video guides. They are specifically designed around using the Italy wiki, and so very FamilySearch-centric. Don’t expect flashy animations or mood music either. These are simple, softly spoken desktop tutorials, that explain what to do and where to go. Once you’ve watched a few case studies you’ll feel more confident taking the plunge, and you can return to the map of Italy, click the province, then, if available, begin searching in the various sets of birth, marriage and death records through FamilySearch. Remember that although lots of these records have been indexed, many collections remain image-only, so you’ll have more leg work.
