East Dunbartonshire is about to launch a more user-friendly collections catalogue, with some 5,000 images from local photographic collections ( collections.edlc.co.uk/home).

2 Ayrshire Archives

Staff are hoping to launch a new website to replace the service’s current WordPress offering before the end of 2023.

3 East Riding Archives

East Riding launched its digital archive in May, which includes photos and documents. There’s also a First World War exhibition at eastridingarchives.co.uk/ww1lives.

4 Wigan And Leigh Archives Online

This is a new website from the winner of the Archives and Records Association’s national Archive Volunteering Award 2022, where you can explore digitised photos and ephemera.

5 Sheffield City Archives

Two research guides have been added to the site covering tracing Caribbean ancestors and South Asian forebears. Also Findmypast has the new index ‘Yorkshire, Sheffield Crime Courts and Convicts 1769–1931’ with some 206,000 names ( bit.ly/fmp-sheff-crim).

6 Norfolk Record Office

Staff have just added 18,000 entries from registers of Norwich paupers, so all of the parish settlement certificates, examinations and removal orders are now name-indexed.

7 Warwickshire County Record Office

An index to quarter-session minute books for 1850–1900 is coming soon. Compiled by volunteers, it will cover subjects from licensing to crime, including theft and eavesdropping!

8 Ceredigion Archives

9 West Glamorgan Archive Service

This London Metropolitan Archives project to improve the descriptions of nearly 80,000 London County Council photos ends in 2023.

11 Somerset Archives
