Athletes from all points of the South compete at meet

Windsor, Slough, Eton & Hounslow (WSEH) AC welcomed athletes from all points of the South for their Winter Indoor Open Meeting at Thames Valley Athletic Centre on Sunday.

Some 30 athletes from the club also took part, with Reiss DurbanDavi­son the best of their sprinters, clocking 7.25 seconds to come second in the 60m sprint.

Isaac Osei-Tutu went faster, clocking 7.17 seconds, but that was only good enough for fourth in a more competitiv­e race.

Kaif Rizvi matched his time in the u20s race, coming fourth, while Geovanni Sealy won his race in 7.23.

At u17s level Alex Stirzaker was fifth in a time of 7.79, with Adnan Huhu taking third in 7.92.

Xavier Williams won his u13s race in 8.48 and Woody Radgord was another to win his event in 8.22.

Three more sprint winners came from the senior ladies second with Lukesha Morris

(7.62), Harriet Jones (7.77) and

Jess Armah (7.96) all victorious.

Fastest of the u15s girls contingent was Anna Babis, third with 8.26. However, Tyra Coker’s time of 8.57 was good enough to win her race.

Just one u13s girl toed the startline in the event, with Celyn Price finishing fifth in 9.76.

WSEH’s athletes also made their presence felt in the field events, with Lionel Owona winning the u20s high jump in 2.00m, a leap that was close to his personal best. Alex Stirzaker did set a new pb in the u17s age group, clearing 1.75m to come second, while Harris Truss won the u13s event with a new pb of 1.30m.

Best of the ladies was Cami Ho who came second in the u17s event with 1.25m.

She was outdone by Poppy Batchlor, who won the u13s high jump with a clearance of 1.30m.

There were two more winners in the pole vault, with Nina Balut winning the u17s age group with 2.70m and Erin Rees winning the u15s competitio­n with a clearance of 2.50m.

Molly Staunton was third in the same age group with 2.30m and Lauren Samler fourth with 2.20m.

The fourth race in the Chiltern League Cross Country League series takes place in Keysoe, Bedford, this weekend.
