NHS dialysis unit ‘good’ say inspectors
WINDSOR: An NHS unit in Windsor which treats patients with chronic kidney disease has been rated ‘good’ by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
Inspectors who visited the Windsor Dialysis Unit in July and August last year found it good in all areas, including safeness, effectiveness, the quality of care, how responsive the unit is, and whether it is well-led.
The unit specialises in haemodialysis for patients with chronic kidney disease and is part of the Royal Berkshire Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
The CQC report, published on Tuesday, January 7, said the main area for improvement is revising the unit’s way of storing oxygen cylinders.
