No jail for knife threats at hospital

A 21-year-old who threatened to stab police at Wishaw General Hospital has avoided jail time.

Gregor Scott, of Elvan Tower, Motherwell pleaded guilty to the offence, which took place on January 2.

Scott was found guilty of behaving in a threatening and abusive manner by making sectarian remarks, shouting, swearing and threatening to stab police whilst in possession of a knife at the hospital.

At Hamilton Sheriff Court last week the 21-year-old was given a community payback order. He must do 100 hours of unpaid work and attend supervision meetings for 12 months.
