Set fire to woman’s clothes

A Motherwell man has been ordered to carry out 100 hours of unpaid work as punishment for setting fire to a woman’s clothes.

Richard Hunter, of Ganger Way, admitted wilfully setting fire to various items of clothing belonging to Leeann Charlton at Newarthill Road, Carfin, last July.

At Hamilton Sheriff Court last week the 30-year-old was given a community payback order which required him to take on 100 hours of unpaid work within four months.
