Lotto grant thanks from Ra­dio Law

Wishaw-based Ra­dio Law have scooped £10,000 thanks to the lottery.

The hospital ra­dio sta­tion, which serves the pa­tients and staff of Wishaw Gen­eral Hospital, have been suc­cess­ful in ob­tain­ing a Grant for al­most £10,000 from the Big Lottery Fund un­der the Awards for All Scot­land scheme.

Ra­dio Law are a char­ity with a group of ded­i­cated vol­un­teers and have been pro­vid­ing en­ter­tain­ment to pa­tients first at Law Hospital and then Wishaw Gen­eral for al­most 50 years.

The grant has been used to pur­chase the lat­est Com­rex Ac­cess equip­ment that will en­able them to broad­cast from al­most any­where‘live’ back to the pa­tients.

It means the sta­tion can ex­pand greatly the many lo­cal events which they cover.

Iain Gilchrist, chair­man of Ra­dio Law, said: ”We are de­lighted that on our first-ever ap­pli­ca­tion to the Na­tional Lottery, we have been suc­cess­ful.

“We are ex­cited that over the com­ing months we can broad­cast from events around the county to en­hance our pro­gram­ming.
