Wishaw-based Radio Law have scooped £10,000 thanks to the lottery.

The hospital radio station, which serves the patients and staff of Wishaw General Hospital, have been successful in obtaining a Grant for almost £10,000 from the Big Lottery Fund under the Awards for All Scotland scheme.

Radio Law are a charity with a group of dedicated volunteers and have been providing entertainment to patients first at Law Hospital and then Wishaw General for almost 50 years.

The grant has been used to purchase the latest Comrex Access equipment that will enable them to broadcast from almost anywhere‘live’ back to the patients.

It means the station can expand greatly the many local events which they cover.

Iain Gilchrist, chairman of Radio Law, said: ”We are delighted that on our first-ever application to the National Lottery, we have been successful.

“We are excited that over the coming months we can broadcast from events around the county to enhance our programming.

“If anyone has an event they would like us to attend, please email radiolaw@ freenetname.co.uk”
