Factory’s team award
A Netherton-based soft furnishing factory which supports employees with disabilities has received national recognition.
The supported employment business run by North Lanarkshire Council received a highly commended award in the Disability Confident category at the prestigious Municipal Journal achievement awards.
Municipal Journal is the UK’s leading weekly magazine focusing on what’s going on and what people are thinking in today’s world of local politics.
Councillor Barry McCulloch, convener of Housing and Social Work Services, said: “The business supports and employs disabled people in our local communities.
“It’s a fantastic achievement to be recognised as one of the top bodies in the UK supporting disabled people in work and I’d like to pay testament to everyone involved in ensuring NL Industries is such a success.”
NL Industries provides products and services including soft furnishings, reupholstery, sofa production and removal and storage.
