Dance school pupils excel at SECC event

L School of Dance were celebratin­g after taking the world by storm last week.

The Shotts dance school had four teams competing at the World Street Dancing Championsh­ips at the SECC in Glasgow.

Whilst the‘Chaotic’dance squad missed out on a finals spot by half a point, the‘ReMix’, ‘Unique Soulz’and‘Hype’teams made the last round on Sunday with‘Hype’giving the performanc­e of their life to make the finals.

Unfortunat­ely the girls were not placed in the under 14 novice category but their coaches were delighted with their efforts.

‘ReMix’went in as underdogs but in the beginner’s under 14 category they managed to finish above 38 teams to finish the fifth best place team in the world.

However, due to the close nature of the competitio­n they were only 1.5 points behind the winners in their first ever internatio­nal tournament.

‘Unique Soulz’managed to find a place on the podium by finishing third in the under 18 intermedia­te category.

To add to their achievemen­t it was the second year in a row the Shotts dance group have managed a third place finish.
