Dirty Water set to wow audiences after its super run at the Edinburgh Fringe

-

Fresh from a successful run at the Edinburgh Fringe, a play focusing on the lives of Glasgow cleaners, Dirty Water, is coming to town.

And playwright John Stuart who has created the play which has been likened to Irvine Welsh’s Trainspotting and Tony Roper’s The Steamie, was so determined to get Dirty Water on tour he even stripped off.

John and some of the cast performed a Full Monty style show and raised a staggering £1000 for the production to go on tour.

Dirty Water is a modern day story of make friendship - Jock, Crawford, Brian and Boab all work for the Eager Beaver Cleaners team.

Jock, the team leader is trying to come to terms with becoming a father for the first time; Boab is a ladies man; Crawford is the functional alcoholic and man of wisdom and Brian is the privately educated struggling actor.

Written by playwright and screenwriter John Stuart it is a play he is extremely proud of.

“Dirty Water has had over 30 performances over the past two years which included 19 shows at the Edinburgh Fringe,” said John, 31.

“I am really proud of everyone involved and this tour of the production is a real test for us as we were nervous about a tour but it’s been great.”

Dirty Water will be at East Kilbride’s Village Theatre on September 9 and 10.
