Saltire Awards pupils boost charity fundraiser

-

It was a great morning enjoyed by all, which as well as raising money for two great causes, raised cultural and linguistic awareness in the school.

Kickstart Theatre: The Assembly Hall was filled with roars of laughter as the KickStart Theatre Company put on a brilliant performance for the new S1 pupils.

Addressing vital topics such as smoking, road safety, fire-starting and knife crime, the team from KickStart had the pupils doubled with laughter throughout, while addressing these hard-hitting topics.

During the interactive play pupils were encouraged to shout out and stop the action in real-time and help the performers change the course of their negative actions by making the right choices.

Some lucky pupils were even involved in the re-enacting some of the scenes, to the delight of the audience.

Feedback from the S1 pupils was very positive who definitely took to heart the messages throughout the play.

S1 and S4 Photographs: The photographer visited the school on Monday 3rd October. Pupils looked extra spick and span as they posed for their new official school photographs in their Coltness uniforms.

These will doubtless be proudly displayed by family members on mantelpieces and walls throughout the community.

Engineering Apprenticeship and Degree Opportunities: On Thursday, November 3, BAE Systems in Govan are hosting an open evening from 5.30pm until 8pm for interested young people to attend and find out more about this industry and the many various opportunities there are offering.

Please see Mrs Duncan if you would be interested in attending to find out more and if you are interested in attending.

It is also open to parents and carers who may wish to go along to find out more about the plethora of opportunities BAE are offering at all levels.
