Option evening proved popular
Options Evening
Thanks to all Calderhead High pupils and parents who came along to the options evening on February 22 to learn about the option choice process and meet with the senior management and pupil support teams.
The course choice options booklets are available on the school website and if parents and carers need any further information, they can contact the school at 01501 826701 or email HT@Calderhead.n-lanark.sch.uk. Robotics Challenge
Calderhead High’s Robotics club (Dylan McLelland, Dale Whitefield, Josh McLeod, Ethan McMillan and Jamie Reid) attended the Tomorrow’s Engineers regional heat at West Lothian College on Monday, February 20.
They competed in a teamwork bridge building challenge where they designed and built a bridge from scrap wood to successfully carry a car.
Members of the team were interrogated on their Lego Mindstorms robot design which they then programmed to carry out a number of space mission challenges.
The team were delighted to return with a trophy for their presentation on how robots can be used to help humans explore space. Well done! S6 Photos
Although concentrating on their assignments and studying hard for prelims and final exams, S6 pupils have also started collating Yearbook entries and planning prom.
Mrs Galloway has been helping pupils with their yearbook and took some great photos. The school are looking forward to seeing the finished result. Storm Doris
Despite Storm Doris’ best efforts, staff and pupils at Calderhead High School braved the blizzard and lessons continued as normal for most of the day on Thursday.
