Aleshia’s balloons of love finished up in Aberlour!

-

A Motherwell schoolgirl let off balloons into the sky for her gran in‘heaven’but was amazed when it ended up 180 miles away in Aberlour.

Aleshia Lynch, 9, decided that as her great-granny Cathy couldn’t be at her first holy communion she would send balloons from her party up to heaven instead.

And Aleshia’s gran Carolyn told her that they should put a note on the balloons to see how far they would go.

The Cathedral Primary pupil let them off into the sky with a note reading:“Hello, I’m Aleshia Lynch and I am nine-years-old.

“I live in Motherwell in Scotland. Could you contact my gran Carolyn Rowlands on Facebook. Love Aleshia xxx.”

The following week a post began to circulate on Facebook from a lady called Shona Taylor in Aberlour.

She posted a picture of Aleshia’s note and wrote:“A challenge for my fab Facebook friends.

“Two pink first communion balloons landed on our farm with this note attached.

“Can you help find Aleshia’s gran? Please share across central belt and particularly Motherwell. Thanks.”

News began to spread and Shona finally got in touch with Carolyn to let her know of her discovery.

Carolyn said that Aleshia was delighted when she heard that Shona had found her balloon and note.

She said:“Shona sent Aleshia a letter and also enclosed her original note in with it to prove to her how far it had travelled.”
