Houldswort­h Bowling Club The function room will be closed on Saturday, June 24, but the lounge will be open as normal. The function room will be closed on Saturdays, July 1 and July 8, but the lounge will be open on both dates. Dances for July will include Different Klass on July 15, Dougie and Peter on July 22, and Stuart Carr on July 29 plus the usual bingo and treasure chest on all dates. South Wishaw Parish Church Midweek service on Wednesdays at 12pm takes place in the church throughout the year. This is followed by a lunch club at 12.30pm from September to June before the start of the Wednesday Welcome at 1.30pm to 3.30pm. These activities are open to all. Wednesday Welcome is a social activity which runs throughout the year. There is something to please everyone with big-screen movies, bingo, seated keep-fit, entertaine­rs, crafts and card making and much more. The group will host their Hawaiian ball today (Wednesday) and this will be the final meeting until they resume in September. All are welcome to come along to any of the above activities. A review meeting for all those involved in this year’s summer fete will take place at the church tonight (Wednesday) at 7.30pm. Worship on Sunday at 11am will be preceded by a prayer breakfast starting at 9.15am. A fundraiser for St Andrew’s Hospice is being held in the church this Saturday, June 24, when the City of Glasgow will be providing a programme of music, sketches and humour. Tickets can be obtained from the church or at the door on the night. The worship group will be holding a Saturday cafeteria on Saturday, between 10am and 1pm. Wishaw Ex-servicemen’s Club Entertainm­ent begins with cash bingo in the Tartan lounge on Friday and Sunday nights. Future events will see the fabulous voice of singer Kirk James, who will be performing in the main hall on July 22, entry costs £2 for members; and £3 for non members. An Eagles tribute band will perform on Saturday, June 26, and tickets cost £10 each. This is a terrific show not to be missed. The main hall and upstairs lounge is available to book for most functions including weddings, christenin­gs, birthdays, anniversar­ies, funerals and most other occasions. Beltane Bowling Club’ snext monthly dance will be held in the club on Saturday, July 1, with music for the evening provided by the Johnny Weir Sound and a sing song in hall on Sunday at 8.30pm. Dalziel St Andrew’s Parish Church All are welcome at all ages worship service on Sunday morning at 11am when the Sunday school and Fusion Bible class) will conclude their term. The service is available via online live streaming service at dalzielsta­ndrews.org.uk. These services also include BSL signing and electronic note taking to assist the deaf or hard of hearing. Although the normal groups will conclude, children are welcome each week throughout the summer months at the summer Sunday school and creche when, each week, a themed time of fun and games and snacks will be held. Each week the theme will be based on one of the I Am sayings of Jesus with the first one on July 2, being I am the Bread of Life. The next messy church event will take place on Sunday afternoon at 3.30pm.
