Shotts tenants’ and residents associatio­n have their next meeting in Springhill Community Hall on Tuesday, August 1 at 7.30pm. For more informatio­n, see the group on Facebook. Springhill Marble Club are holding a kiddies disco during Civic Week tonight (Wednesday, June 21) with Dee Bee Disco from 6.30pm to 8.30pm. Entry is free and there will be fun, games and a free goodie bag. 1st Shotts Girls’ Brigade are now on holiday for the summer and will resume on Wednesday, August 23. Shotts Gala Day The big day is on Saturday. All floats, decorated vehicles and fancy dress should be at Foundry Road by 10am for judging at 10.45am. The parade leaves Foundry Road at 11.30am and will proceed via Burnbrae Road, Main Street, Springhill Road and onto Tulloch Road and end at the gala day park. The crowning ceremony is at 1pm. All children from Shotts will be given a bag and any visitors can purchase a bag for £1. There is a lot of free entertainm­ent on the top park. 3rd Shotts Scout Group The scout hall at 100 Benhar Road, Shotts, is available for any organisati­on in the community to use and requests to do so should be made to Mrs Mary Lees (Group Scout Leader) on 01501 821658. Beavers (aged five to eight years) meet on Tuesdays from 7pm to 8.15pm. Contact Margaret Galloway (Keeo) on 01501 823715. Cubs (aged eight to 10) meet on Wednesdays from 7pm to 8pm. Shotts and District Rotary Club Local businesswo­man Linsey Fairlie, from Only Natural Holistic Therapies, visited the club last week to give a talk to members about her business and her range of therapies including reiki, massage and shiatsu. Linsey gave an interestin­g and informativ­e talk about holistic therapies, which was very well received by club members. The next rotary club meeting of this session will be held on July 12. EU Congregati­onal Church An open church is held each Wednesday, from 11am until 1pm, when the minister will be available. There will be a short service from 11.30am to 12pm, so feel free to come along and bring a friend. The service on Sunday morning is at 11.30am, with the evening service at 6.30pm, and singing group meets on Tuesday nights at 7pm. Salvation Army Corps The friendship club meets on Tuesday afternoons from 1pm to 3pm. The youth club meets on Wednesdays, from 6pm to 7pm and is followed by band practice at 7pm to 8pm. The toddlers group meets on Thursday mornings from 9.30am to 11am and the prayer meeting is held on Thursday evenings at 7pm. The Friday club and JAM club are now on holiday. The Sunday
