Community cafe is open for business as usual in Gowkthrapple Community Centre on Thursdays, between 11.30am and 1.30pm. It serves tasty and affordable snack lunches and a place to enjoy a chat and there is also a take away menu available. Club Sun fun day next meets in the community centre on September 17, between 1pm and 2pm. All primary school aged children will be made welcome. The youngsters listen to Bible stories, draw, paint, make things and enjoy a snack lunch together. For further information, contact K Crichton on the above number. Gold group Activities in the CentrePoint, 70 Smith Avenue, Wishaw begin with ESOL classes on Mondays, 9.30am to 11.30am, community cafe 10am to 2pm and bouncy castle club 4pm to 4.45pm. Tuesdays - Tae Kwon Do 6.30pm to 8.30pm, dinner club 4pm to 6pm. Wednesdays - parent and toddlers 1pm to 2pm, youth club 4pm to 6.30pm. Thursdays - IT classes 10am to 12pm, women’s group 1.30pm to 3pm, Go Kids drama group 4.30pm to 6.30pm, kids IT club 5pm to 6pm, and Friday - community cafe 10am to 2pm. Netherton
Alba Photographic Society’s new season continues at the Netherton Community Centre tonight. This will be an informal event and the hall will be open from 7pm to 10pm. New members will be welcome. A slide show of the best of last year’s digital images will be shown and printed images will also be on display around the hall. There will be tea and coffee for all and Alba members will be on hand to answer any questions on cameras, photography and any other matters regarding the club. This is a small progressive club which provides a friendly space for people to come and enjoy photography. Anyone interested can come along. See www.albaps.co.uk
