Woman denies threatenin­g ex

The Newmains Residents Associatio­n will hold a meeting at the NCT Centre today ( Wednesday) at 7pm to discuss how the community should pull together after the tragedy which left Pawel Urbanski dead.

The 23- year- old died last Monday following the blast at the Newmains Pastoral Centre. Fellow worker Courtney Clinton is still in a critical condition.

The 26-year-old, from Motherwell, was believed to be working with two others in the building, removing asbestos before a planned demolition.

Police Scotland said there are no suspicious circumstan­ces and the other two workers were uninjured.

Now resident Jim Vallance has went doorto-door to speak to neighbours and is looking A woman is due to stand trial over claims she repeatedly contacted her ex-partner and made threats towards him.

Tracey Langford appeared at Hamilton Sheriff Court last week and pleaded not guilty to contacting her ex by phone at her home in Carfin on August 24 and 25 by shouting, swearing and uttering threats of violence.

The 38- year- old also denied failing to comply with an undertakin­g condition by making calls to her former boyfriend and speaking to him on October 6 and 7.

Langford is alleged to have committed this offence while on bail. The final charge allegedly took place on Saturday, October 7, at her home in Marian Drive, at Motherwell Police Office and within a police vehicle enroute to Cathcart Police Station.

During this alleged incident, Langford is accused of repeatedly shouted, swearing at police officers and uttering abusive sexual, racial and religious remarks to them. A further hearing in the case will be heard on November 23. Langford, who was granted bail, is due to stand trial on December 23.
