Enjoying a pizza foreign lifestyle
It has been a bellissimo time at Clyde Valley High School recently.
In June, senior pupils were given the opportunity to take part in the annual Italian Exchange Programme with their partner school, the Istituto Sismondi-Pacinotti in Pescia, Italy.
Now all of the Scottish twins met their Italian twins for the first time when they collected them from the Bentley Hotel in Motherwell last month.
The first evening with the Italians, was a getting-to-know-you event and for the Scots, an opportunity to learn some Italian!
The Italian pupils then visited the Clyde Valley Campus for the first time and – after getting the tour of the school – the Italians spent some time in the home economics department where Miss Barratt provided some Scottish delicacies to try.
Both the Irn Bru and haggis received mixed reviews.
The Italian twins then spent their weekend taking in the sights of Glasgow and Edinburgh, before spending the next day visiting Stirling.
Than all parties came together to have a disco at Our Lady’s High School, Motherwell.
The following day they visited New Lanark, the Clyde Valley pupils introduced their Italian twins to ten-pin bowling.
At the final day in school, everyone put their best foot forward as they danced traditional Scottish dances in preparation for the ceilidh that took place that evening at Dalziel High School.
The Clyde Valley staff and pupils involved had a great week with their Italian twins and truly feel as though they have made friends for life.
Although sad to see them go, they know that they will see them again in February when they go to visit them in Italy! CINQUE MESI!
