Houldswort­h Bowling Club Entertainm­ent this Saturday will see dancing to Donnie Findlay plus bingo and treasure chest. The presentati­on of trophies will also take place at the club on the same day. Annette MacDonald School of Dance held its recent examinatio­ns with results as follows: Starlite ballet, Passed - Emma Gallacher, Rose Dornan, Layla Rattray, Chloe Allan, Sophie Cook, Rachel Brownlie, Cara Smith, Emilia Dombrowska, Sam Dornan and Danielle Boyle. Pre-primary ballet, Highly commended - Lia Wilson; Commended - Emma Brown and Collette Kilpatrick. Primary ballet, Honours - Shona Leitch; Highly commended - Sinead Scott, Amy Coburn, Myah Devine, Chloe Smith; Commended - Hannah Morrison; Pass plus - Natalie Brownlie, Emily Barlow, Megan McMurdie. Grade one ballet, Honours - Eve McCandless; Commended - Logan Holbourne, Sophie Smith, Carys Flanagan, Beth Morrison, Amy Barlow. Congratula­tion to Eve McCandless and Shona Leitch who each received Honours in their exams. Well done girls, top marks and a great result. Principal dance teacher Annette would like to thank all the girls who did so well in their exams. It was another great year which produced great results and now it is time to have fun and get ready for their next annual show. Annette would like to thank all the mums and dads who brought their girls along on the day, and to Sam who helped them to prepare for their exams. Wishaw Ex-servicemen’s Club Entertainm­ent this week begins with cash bingo in the Tartan lounge on Fridays and Sundays. A private function and cash bingo will be held in the Tartan lounge this Saturday. The club will hold a special annual general meeting on Saturday, November 4, at 1pm. Upcoming events will include an entertainm­ent night with the wonderful Lee Scott on Saturday, November 11; Billy Connolly tribute night with Garry Moir, followed by dancing on Saturday, December 16. Tickets cost £8 and are available now; entertainm­ent night with the talented Tam Bell on Saturday, December 23. Why not book the two function halls for special occasions, including 18th and 21st birthday parties. Daughters of Scotia LLOL200 are holding a charity fashion show on Friday, October 27, at 7pm in the District 16 hall on Dryburgh Road, Wishaw. Entry costs £3 and can be paid at the door on the night. All welcome. Rotary Club Thursday night was a special night for the members of Motherwell and Wishaw Rotary Club, when the club honoured its longest standing rotarian John Chapman. John, a local businessma­n was inducted into the rotary 50 years ago. Rotarian and friend Hughes Lumsden gave a brief insight into John’s long associatio­n with the rotary. President Andrew Murray presented John with his 50 year citation and, in addition, John who is already a Paul Harris Fellowship recipient received an enhanced Paul Harris jewel which contained three sapphires, and the club members presented John with a cake to mark the occasion. Charles Keeper was the winner of the weekly bonus ball. The guest speaker was Lynne Cameron, from Biggar who works for Tesco Bank. She informed members
